Pearl Reloaded

Exploring themes of identity, empowerment, and transformation. By blending traditional portraiture with street-art aesthetics, the work challenges the viewer to rethink classical ideals of beauty, femininity, and cultural relevance in a modern world. The crown and halo imply strength and divinity, while the graffiti touches highlight raw humanity and rebellion against conformity. It’s a celebration of individuality amidst societal expectations. 

• My use of abstract markings, such as crosses, numbers, and scribbles, adds layers of meaning. These represent personal struggles, societal labels, and the clash between inner identity and external perception.

Door traditionele portretkunst te combineren met streetart-esthetiek, daagt het de kijker uit om klassieke idealen van schoonheid, vrouwelijkheid en culturele relevantie in een moderne wereld te heroverwegen. De kroon en halo impliceren kracht en goddelijkheid, terwijl de graffiti-accenten de rauwe menselijkheid en rebellie tegen conformisme benadrukken. Het is een viering van individualiteit te midden van maatschappelijke verwachtingen.
